Motivation
Its difficult to understand why in a town like Knysna local businesses are not doing more to promote themselves and market the services they offer. And we believe its worth having another go at re-launching the Knysna Chamber of Commerce. We might end up wasting our time but that’s not a particularly good excuse for doing nothing. It is however a very good reason for doing things slightly different this time around. To start with we won’t be charging any membership fees. We believe that the Chamber should be seen to be adding real value to members businesses and that there is no reason it cannot be self funding.
Next, if its possible to avoid doing so, we don’t intend to hold any meetings. Why waste the time? Most people are fortunate to have some sort of access to the internet and if they don’t know how, its time to learn. Starting up and running a business in the Garden Route is not the easiest or most sensible thing one can choose to do and what that means that we are all short of time and we should be learning to work a little smarter.
